Florence Strauss has moviemaking in her blood. Her grandfather, the celebrated producer Robert Hakim, was behind such prestigious films as Pepe Moko and Belle de jour. Today, Florence is a scriptwriter and director. She has adapted several literary works and plays for the screen. For television, she has co-written Le Guepean and directed Bebe vole starring Christine Boisson. For the cinema, she has written the feature Debout les morts (1999) based on the novel by French crime writer Fred Vargas. Her best-known film is surely Dans la cour des grands (1995). With the road movie Between Two Notes, Florence travels back to the source of classical Arabic music while exploring her own family history across the Middle East. She is now working on Le parfum du mois, a comedy with Jacques Gamblin, and writing a documentary called Les pulsations de l'invisible.
