In Search of the Bene Israel

Returning to her Jewish grandmother’s birthplace in India, director Sadia Shepard discovers the story of Bene Israel, a tiny Jewish community in Bombay. Her colorful documentary is a journey to reconnect with a group of Jews who believe they are descended from one of the lost tribes of Israel, shipwrecked in India 2,000 years ago.
