Pride and Prejudice: LGBT Rights in Jewish Life Today
Follows the 7:00pm screening of Jerusalem Is Proud to Present at the Castro Theatre.
Panel is free to ticketholders for the film.
The panel discussion "Pride and Prejudice: LGBT Rights in Jewish Life Today" examines the current state of LGBT issues in both organized U.S. Jewish life as well as in Israel and around the world. The film preceding the panel is a close look at the 2006 struggle to hold a World Pride celebration in Jerusalem. Panel members, including the director of the film, will bring audience members up to date on the now three-year struggle to hold a gay pride celebration in Jerusalem as well both the advances made by (and remaining obstacles facing) LGBT Jews in their quest for full participation in Jewish religious life.
