Bulletproof Stockings

Recipient of a 2024 JFI Completion Grant

Lead singer Perl Wolfe (26) and drummer Dalia Shusterman (39) come together to create BULLETPROOF STOCKINGS, the world’s first all-female Hasidic rock band. Despite being confronted with conservative haters, they challenge gender norms and traditional beliefs about rock music and face controversy head-on in their community and in the secular world. The band quickly garners global media attention and embarks on a nationwide tour and album release. However, with their rising fame, the conflicts between religion and their dreams increase. As the pressure to succeed intensifies, their visions and ideologies start to shift apart, threatening the unity, mission, and future of the band.
