CHERRIES IN THE SNOW, An Ode to Joan Nestle, features women in red lipstick and lingerie, hanging their lovely undergarments on laundry lines.
Melissa Levin is an award winning independent video maker and visual artist. In 2000 she was the recipient of the $5000 V Tape award for Best Emerging Video Artist in Toronto. Her seven short videos dealing with Lesbian identity have shown internationally in over 95 film and video festivals. She just finished her first feature documentary (co-directed with Roxana Spicer). The documentary is called Class Queers and has shown nationally in Canada on Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Television. It is a profile of three gay and lesbian kids who go to Canada’s only alternative high school for Queer kids.
