Like the Sea and its Waves

Two women - childhood friends from Lebanon - meet accidentally in a Paris cafe. Eva, a Jew, and Samia, a Moslem, try to reconstruct their friendship from ten years ago only to find that history and politics constantly interfere with their relationship. Edna Politi, a Lebanese Jew, moved to Israel in 1967. There she studied Art and Islam, worked in film, and developed an interested in the Eastern European Jewish pioneers who forged a new society in their ancient homeland. She later studied film in Germany and is now residing in France.
