Rhodes Forever

The first-ever documentary devoted to the Jews of Rhodes, whose ancestors found refuge there after expulsion from Spain in the 15th century. For five centuries, the "Juderiya", the Jewish quarter of Rhodes, rang with the work, songs, and celebrations of Ladino-speaking Jews, many of whom traded with Salonika, Alexandria, Cairo, and Palestine. Includes wonderful archival footage of the bustling Jewish quarter, a traditional Rhodes wedding and intimate interviews with the survivors of Rhodes who still speak and sing in Ladino.
