The Sandglass

An incredible visionary feature film based on the writings of Bruno Schulz, known as the Polish Franz Kafka. In THE SANDGLASS, a young man named Joseph visits his ailing father, Jacob in a remote sanitarium. In a kaleidoscopic "hero's journey," Joseph tumbles backward in time through a series of dreams which condense biblical parables, childhood fantasy, sexual desire and mystical revelation. Surreal, psychedelic, and totally original. Director Has, best known in the West for THE SARAGOSSA MANUSCRIPT, is one of Poland's leading film directors.
