Full Description
This beautifully shot, remarkably honest documentary chronicles a day in the life of a Palestinian family living in Gaza. Just after the 1993 peace agreement that promised Palestinian rule in Gaza was signed, the Khalil Aziza family, full of hope and energy, decided to build a new house. Their goal was to forget the past and "make Gaza into a garden." Interviews with the family are dreamily intercut with news footage from the Intifada (Palestinian uprising), Arafat's ascension to power, and fractious internal struggles. We follow the three thoughtful, intelligent Khalil Aziza brothers and their wives and children as they struggle to make ends meet and keep their dreams alive in an economic wasteland. "I am against any kind of killing," says one brother, "I only want to live with dignity with my family."
