Paul Lombard (Christopher Walken) was a successful crooner in the style of Sinatra and is living a comfortable existence in the Hamptons. But comfort isn’t what he wants. He wants the fame he thinks he deserves and to regain the celebrity status he lost decades before. Jude (Amber Heard), his eldest daughter, has inherited real talent from her father, but not his ambition. In fact, Paul’s ambition appalls her almost as much as her lack of ambition maddens him. While Paul has a wall lined with dozens of album covers as a testament to his success, Jude sings jingles for a living. Recently evicted from her apartment in New York, Jude seeks refuge under Paul’s roof. However, soon after arriving she’s forced to confront the unresolved, tangled relationships she has with her younger sister, brother-in-law and stepmother number four (or maybe five, but who’s counting?) as well as the toxic relationship she has with Paul. On the surface, When I Live My Life Over Again is a showbiz family dramedy about fame, chance and ambition. On a deeper level, however, this is a film about the enduring bonds of family, love under tortured circumstances and the point at which you can no longer blame your parents for the choices you make in life.
