Farewell USSR

A young Ukrainian Jew turns his camera on himself and his friends and asks, "Should we leave?" A hopeful portrait of the post-Gorbachev generation, this lyrical film weaves together impressions of truly radical Jewish self-expression: political activism in the democratic reform movement, demonstrations and memorials at Babi Yar, and Jewish torch singers and artists creating new styles of cultural expression. The title of the film is ironic - these folks are staying put - it is the USSR that is long gone!
