In this insightful and honest film, a daughter seeks the support of her mother, only to find her mother in fragile health and in greater need of her support.
Hildy Brooks has worked extensively in New York, on Broadway and off Broadway and in London. At the Mark Taper Forum she was seen in TOUNGUE OF A BIRD, SUBSTANCE OF FIRE, and HUNTING COCKROACHES, and starred in Neil Simon's BROADWAY BOUND at the Hudson Theatre. In New York and Los Angeles she appeared in Arthur Penns' production of Harold Pinter's OLD TIMES. her film credits includes LIFE with Eddie Murphy, WHITE PALACE with Susan Saradon, ISLANDS IN THE STREAM with George C. Scott, THE CHOSEN with Rod Steiger, THE ICEMAN COMETH with Lee Marvin, and THE MAGIC OF THE GOLDEN BEAR. She has guest starred in numerous movies of of the week for television and in episodic shows such as CHICAGO HOPE, JAG, PICKET FENCES, SWEET JUSTICE, and SISTERS. Ms. Brooks wrote, directed and acted in her prize-winning film BLOOMERS, about adult children and their aging parents, for PBS, and directed Martin Landau in the feature film TRIAL BY TERROR. In 1991 she was proud to have been invited to the Czech Repulbic to participate as a director in creating a multimedia event celebrating their new found freedom. She last appeared at the Lee Strasberg creative Center in her award-winning one-woman show, WHEN THE RABBI LIED, which she has performed around the country. Ms. Brooks has taught at UCLA and The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. She developed the production concept for THE JEWISH WIFE & THE INFORMER at the Actors' Studio in New York and Los Angeles.
